FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
