Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

Community members came together over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist policing efforts in the capital.

“She was the individual that educators wished for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and cease granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.
