This young athlete boasts considerable social media audience
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent backers when she starts her LPGA debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several courses worldwide and frequently competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply stay calm."
"He essentially told me to compete and relax," she added.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's busy with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has played in only three events this year and holds ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
But she can get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," the young golfer said.
"And he's an even better individual. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at the Annika, such as world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to wider groups, particularly with younger fans.
The young star boasts a massive following and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
She begins at late afternoon GMT.
